Our new explorer is badass. Coming accross Texas we were doing 90mph and were getting 18mpg!!

Since were here is California it has to get some mods. I'm going to look for some beadlocked rims or intake or tuner.

The only problem is when it hits the automatic kick down feels like the $%#!@# car is going to blow up! I got to talk to Doug about it.

Why does it need a intake it has the Gt-40 that plenty. Put a cold air intake and duel exhaust with flowmasters. Since its a OBd2 computer you could easliy do a tune. But the only thing killing that motor is the Camshaft and the stock tune its designed for torque no Hp. A different cam would wake it up big time. That just me 2 cents because Im running the same motor.

I'm already looking for some tires and wheels combo. I'm just not sure what will look the best.

yeah rolling around west texas at 90mph and going by cops was awesome, god bless 80mph speed limits.

When you say come apart, like noises, or does the whole truck shake/vibrate

Sounds like worn motor/trans mounts or bad U joints

Just when you in are overdrive and you slam the gas to hit 2nd gear it feels like the transmission is about the drop. Its a real hard kick and then once it's done down shifting it goes away.

the downshift puts alot of torque on the trans, check that mount, if its original im sure its shot. I already replaced mine and John needs to replace his also.......dam Fords
